UK institutions have formed a vital part of the Human Brain Project from its very early stages in 2013 to the present phase. 16 out of the 134 partners involved in the current SGA3 phase of the HBP are based in the United Kingdom, and UK-based Principle Investigators play pivotal roles in guiding the project towards its scientific and technological goals.
Since January 2020, the UK-based HBP PIs have been meeting regularly with the aims to develop a workplan which will ensure that UK institutions continue to contribute to the legacy of the HBP after the end of the current phase (March 2023).
This workplan includes engagement the development of the UK’s contribution to the EBRAINS ESFRI application, and activities to demonstrate how useful the EBRAINS infrastructure could be for the UK scientific community.
