Video Selfie Campaign WINNERS REVEALED!

The HBP is proud to present the winners of the 1st video selfie campaign, which ran between March and May 2016 and showcased the work of both early-career and senior scientists. The challenge was to explain comprehensively, in under one minute, how a given SP contributes to the HBP Platforms. A total of 16 contributions were received from 8 different SPs, with two worthy winners, SP2 and SP7. 


SP2 was represented by four female early-career scientists. Katrin Amunts, Leader of SP2, said "it is great to see the enthusiasm with which young researchers participate in the project" and praised the "extraordinary creative way" in which these scientists were able to showcase their work.


SP7's Jesús Labarta, director of the Computer Sciences department at BSC, said it was "a pleasure to participate in this campaign, as we've been able to showcase Barcelona Supercomputing Center's technologies". He is "delighted that the researchers managed to explain [these technologies] for the HBP in under a minute".


Both SPs win the opportunity to be featured in a documentary where they can showcase their work to the entire HBP community. The documentary will be screened during the HBP Summit 2016 and broadcast through HBP public website and social media channels.



The aim of the video campaign was to facilitate engagement between members of the Consortium, learn about the work of different scientists and engineers, and to increase the visibility of individuals, in particular early-career researchers. We hope that this will inspire SPs to share their work with the HBP community as well as the public, in an informal and interactive way.
