THE MEDICAL INFORMATICS PLATFORM
The Medical Informatics Platform is a Global Open-Source Platform allowing hospitals and research centers worldwide to share medical data. It enables online users to access efficiently, accurate and relevant information on brain related diseases, strictly preserving patients' confidentiality.
The Medical Informatics Platform breaks down the traditional barriers between patient's care, brain science research and clinical research to accelerate the identification of brain diseases and the most effective treatments.
The Medical Informatics Platform acts as a bridge between brain-science research, clinical research and patient care, providing the collaborative infrastructure and tools to improve our knowledge of the human brain and define biological signature of diseases, towards better diagnosis and improved treatments. As part of the platform, we develop a set of tools to manage the data acquisition, treatment and analysis.
The HBP’s Medical Informatics Platform enables researchers and clinicians to access and analyse anonymised multi-modal patient data, federated across multiple hospitals and research centers.
The iterative refinement and reuse of models and analyses will lead to identification of Biological Signatures of Diseases and novel classifications of brain disorders, thus more accurate diagnoses and personalized medicine.
