The Medical Informatics Platform (MIP) is a Global Open-Source Platform allowing hospitals and research centres worldwide to share medical data.
The Medical Informatics Platform (MIP) is a Global Open-Source Platform allowing hospitals and research centres worldwide to share medical data.
The MIP acts as a bridge between brain-science research, clinical research, and patient care, providing the collaborative infrastructure and tools to improve our knowledge of the human brain and define biological signature of diseases, towards better diagnosis and improved treatments.
The Medical Informatics Platform is now installed in 24 hospitals across Europe
The Medical Informatics Platform has now been successfully deployed in 24 centres across 9 European countries, with a fast track to reach 30 by March 2020. Several coordinators of public datasets have expressed their interest in sharing this valuable brain-related data with the scientific community by using the MIP. Clinical data on several thousand patients from at least 8 different pathologies will be available in the near future to be analysed by neuroscientists and clinicians worldwide.
Tailor-made experiments thanks to the integration of Galaxy in MIP version 5.0
Version 5.0 of the Medical Informatics Platform - which is currently in the process of being deployed - now makes it possible to carry out tailor-made experiments thanks to the integration of the Galaxy scientific workflow system. Meanwhile, on the algorithm front, the MIP now offers also the possibility to run logistic regressions. Finally, the MIP front-end has been entirely rewritten in the TypeScript language using the React library, making it faster and more flexible.
