    Geneva, 16 August 2018

This is to convey the information that Chris Ebell has decided to leave his position as Executive Director of the HBP and Head of the HBP’s Project Coordination Office (PCO).

The EPFL and Mr. Ebell have issued the following statement: "The parties separate by common agreement following a change of university leadership and differences of opinion on governance and on strategic orientations for the HBP. The EPFL thanks Mr. Ebell for the quality of his work, for his unstinting commitment during his years in the institution and in particular for his decisive contribution to the success of the HBP project. We offer Mr. Ebell our best wishes for his subsequent career path."

Professor Katrin Amunts, Chair of the HBP’s Science and Infrastructure Board and the Project’s Scientific Research Director, has stated: “Chris did a great job at a difficult time, when the Project was transitioning to the current phase, and this was recognised by the external experts who reviewed the Project in May this year. I am grateful for his collaboration and that of his team.”

Christian Fauteux, Deputy Executive Director of the HBP, will lead the HBP PCO and the HBP’s Management and Coordination Subproject (SP11) ad interim.
