Flagship call
The Program was approved by the EU Competitivity Council in December 2009. On this basis the Commission launched a consultation exercise with the scientific community, that led in June 2010 to a Call for Proposals for Pilot Projects From the proposals received the Commission has selected 6 pilot projects, each of which has received funding to conduct preparatory study in preparation for a full-scale Flagship Project. One of these is the Human Brain Project. The pilot projects will be completed in April 2012. The Commission will evaluate the results and on this basis select 1 or 2 projects to receive funding under the full flagship program. The projects are expected to begin work in 2013.
